1:32 a.m. — Schaumburg Fire Department responded to an activated fire alarm with a report of power failure and fire by the east dock at Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, 1651 Thoreau Drive. Firefighters reported smoke and a problem with a transformer in a building separate from the main hotel and convention center. No hazard, but firefighters standing by for Com Ed.

11:10 p.m. — Medical assist on West Vine, Arlington Heights for home care assist due to lack of power.

10:59 p.m. — Traffic signal malfunction, lights out in all directions at Euclid Avenue and Wilke Road.

10:37 p.m. — Traffic signal malfunction at Arlington Heights Road and Park Street, Arlington Heights

10:37 p.m. — Smell of smoke in bathroom, 900 block of Lee Court, Buffalo Grove.

10:08 p.m. — Tree down in the middle of the road at 1628 Cambourne

10:06 p.m. — 1104 South Arlington Heights Road pole hit by lightning.

10:04 p.m. — Large power outage near Arlington Heights Road and White Oak

At 9:23 p.m. Wednesday heavy rain with almost zero visibility reported in Schaumburg. Branches reported down near Schaumburg Road and Braintree.

8:55 p.m. National Weather Service Doppler failed after possible lightning strike.
