Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows Also Affected by Storm Winds
Schaumburg police and firefighters and Elk Grove police and firefighters responded to trees and utility poles down in southern Schaumburg and southern Elk Grove Village.
Trees and branches were reported down at Mitchell and Wright Boulevard.
Utility poles were also reported down at Lamorak Drive and Plum Grove Road.
Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a down power/utility power at Plum Grove and Lakeland.
Numerous activated fire and burglar alarms were also reported in the area.
In Rolling Meadows, firefighters received a report that lightning struck a building at 3833 Industrial.
In Mount Prospect, firefighters responded to the 900 block of North Prospect Manor for a garage and house threatened by a downed power line or utility pole. Firefighters on the scene requested Com Ed expedite to the scene.
Storm clouds and wind gusts affected Arlington Heights, but no storms were indicated on radar over Arlington Heights. Also no precipitation was reported in Arlington Heights.
