Cook County Sheriff’s deputy and firefighter rescue dog from house fire at Higgins Road (Route 72) and Stanley Street (See over 130 photos at Facebook.com/CardinalEmergencies).
Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:00 PM Tuesday to a house fire at Higgins Road and Stanley Street. Firefighter/paramedics received a report that the house was fully involved. Police reported seeing smoke in the skies as soon as they received the call.
No people were home at the time of the fire. A dog was rescued by firefighter an Cook County Sheriff deputies. The dog was transported to a local animal hospital.
Higgins Road (Route 72) was closed in both directions for about 15 minutes, then the westbound lanes were opened. The eastbound lanes were opened at about 6:30 PM.
