Schaumburg police and Streamwood police responded just after 9:45 p.m. Thursday to a report of a possible criminal sexual assault near the area of Schaumburg Road, west of Odlum Drive, Streamwood. The woman went for help at Papa Saverio’s Pizza, 1070 East Schaumburg Road in Streamwood.
Police received a report that the offender was walking toward a female jogger, when he grabbed the her, tore off some of her clothing including a bra, and then pulled her to the ground. The woman was fighting off the offender when he stopped the attack. The offender took the woman’s cell phone, and fled the area. Police received a report that the offender fled through an apartment or townhouse courtyard after the attack, but it is unknown if the track was north or south.
The offender was initially described as a male/Hispanic, 19-25-years old, 5’10” 150 LBS with short dark hair. He was described wearing a white tank top and navy blue cargo pants. He was later described as possibly being about 18-19 years old.
A Streamwood fire station is nearby the crime scene.
The call is classified as criminal sexual abuse case.
