A line of diminishing thunderstorms in northwest Illinois are heading east, as indicated by radar. The storms, if still organized, are expected to pass through the area of Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Severe weather and tornado risk for Monday is indicated in northern Texas, southern Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Conditions for a severe weather outbreak in northern Illinois do not exist, but some isolated thunderstorms could produce lightning, gusty winds, small hail, and brief, heavy downpours.
National Weather Service Forecast:
Today: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. West northwest wind between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 74. North northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 53. North northeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.
