Des Plaines firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday to a rollover crash at Oakton Street and Elmhurst Road on the border of Mount Prospect and Des Plaines. About 3:30 p.m. Des Plaines called for assistance from Mount Prospect, Elk Grove Village and Elk Grove rural firefighter/paramedics.

At least one person was extricated from a red truck, which was entering or leaving the roadway at the southwest corner of the intersection. A black pickup truck was southbound on Elmhurst Road, as the driver apparently disobeyed a red light and struck the red truck.

Southbound Elmhurst Road was blocked during the rescue operation. Victims were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Alexian Brothers Medical Center and Northwest Community Hospital.
