VIDEO App features demo: The free MyNCH app is available for use on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad; and will be available for Android devices in the future.
Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is making it easier for individuals to stay connected with the award winning regional healthcare provider. Today, NCH is announcing the launch of MyNCH™, a custom-designed mobile application (app) that allows individuals to better manage their urgent and day-to-day healthcare needs – with just the tap of a finger.
MyNCH is a multi-functional mobile app that provides people with instant access to NCH’s network of medical group physicians, hospital services, emergency care, immediate care and specialty centers throughout Chicago’s northwest suburbs. NCH is among the first healthcare providers in Illinois and one of only 13 comparable hospitals in the country to provide its patients with a robust mobile app.
New MyNCH™ finds ER wait times, requests appointments, and Angry Birds for while your waiting …
“At NCH, we are continually identifying ways to make healthcare more accessible to our community,” said Bruce Crowther, NCH President and CEO. “By leveraging mobile technology, we can help individuals who are on-the-go better manage their healthcare, both planned and unexpected, at their convenience in a format they are familiar using.”
The MyNCH app features an interactive facility locator with details about all NCH locations and the services provided at each facility. And, in the event of an injury or illness, MyNCH users can quickly identify the NCH facility nearest their location, review the level of care provided, and instantly access driving directions. Real-time estimated wait times at the NCH Emergency Room and the four NCH Immediate Care Centers are also part of this robust mobile healthcare manager.
For an individual’s daily healthcare needs, the app includes a comprehensive appointment request service in which users can make appointments based on their preferred NCH Medical Group physician, location and/or medical service. For lab services, diagnostic tests or Medical Group office visits scheduled with NCH, patients can manage their appointments, access driving directions and even contact an NCH practitioner via message or one-touch dialing. MyNCH users also can access nch.org for additional information about medical services, upcoming community health events and the profiles of more than 1,000 physicians on staff at NCH.
MyNCH is available for download in the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices. There is no charge to download the MyNCH app, but specified rates from wireless providers may apply. The Android version of MyNCH is coming soon. For more information and to view the MyNCH demo video, visit nch.org/app.
