Wheeling police responded last Monday after store employees recognized a man from a previous complaint from a mother who reported that a man placed something under her daughter’s dress.
The man had used a video camera to capture images under the dress of a 13-year-old female at the Wheeling, Illinois Walmart store, 1455 East Lake Cook Road. The girl’s mother reported the suspicious behavior to store security who review security video and called police. The offender, a man in his 60’s, left before police arrived.
The man returned to the store on Monday, and Wheeling police were called when he was recognized from the previous incident. Police arrested Dana Gould, 60, of Hanover Park, who admitted placing a camera under the dress of the 13-year-old girl. Police found images on the video device, but did not specify the content of the video images.
Police are investigating the suspect and checking with other police departments for any ongoing investigations or contact with the suspect.
If convicted of a Class 3 felony related to the unlawful use of the camera, Dana Gould could face two to five year in prison. Bond was set at $5,000. He is scheduled for a court date June 28, 2012.
No record matching Dana Gould was found in the Illinois State Police “Illinois Sex Offender Information” database.
