Prospect Heights police responded about 4:58 p.m. Thursday to a report of a residential burglary in the 1400 block East Olive Street. Police received a report that a resident arrived home and discovered that an unknown offender or offenders broke into a rear door. The resident waited outside while before police arrived so that police could check the house in case the offender was still in the house. Police reported that no entry was made into the house. It is unknown if the rear door was secured by a chain lock.
