Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics and Hanover Park firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:37 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at Irving Park Road and Wise Road. After investigation, police report that no other vehicle crashed with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was reported to be down and unconscious on Wise Road in front of Family Video. The intersection is at the border of Schaumburg and Hanover Park. The victim was identified as Mark Braun, 50-years-old of Schaumburg.
Hanover Park firefighter/paramedics transported Mark Braun to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. He was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at the hospital.
Hanover Park police also responded to the crash. Police believe that no other vehicle contacted the motorcycle before the motorcycle went down. Police are urging any witnesses to the crash to call Schaumburg Police Department with information at 847-882-3534.
