Arlington Heights police responded about 1:55 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a fight in progress at 3443 North Kennicott Avenue, behind the MedFirst medical office. Police received several calls for help. One report stated that a male subject was taking things out of cars and striking a vehicle with a baseball bat. Another caller reported seeing people fighting with baseball bats and sticks.

Police also received a report that the subject was taking things out of cars, and was confronted by a person who appeared to be a doctor. When the subject was told to leave the parking lot, he became upset and began the criminal damage.

The offender was described as a male/white about 6’2″ with a heavy build, red hair, and wearing a dark sweatshirt — possibly high school age. The vehicle that was reported damaged was a white Land Rover.

The offender left the area, walking northbound toward Dundee Road.

Police caught up with the offender near Walker Brother’s and had him in custody at Ridge and Dundee. The subject had a green hoodie sweatshirt and a blue backpack.

An evidence technician was called to the scene. One person apparently had injuries to the back, but no paramedics were called.

The offender was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
