Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:53 a.m. Monday to the area of Palatine Road and Arlington Heights Road and also near Arlington Heights Road and Lillian Avenue.
During a minor snow storm on February 24, 2011, line trouble occurred about one block south at Thomas Street and Vail Avenue.
In the past two years lines have been down between Maude Avenue and Lillian Avenue, just west of Arlington Heights Road. There was also a problem with a power feed grounding out from overhead lines down a pole to underground equipment, just north of Maude Avenue in the parkway east of Arlington Heights Road (date unknown). The incident cause a large bang and humming noise, but no power failure occurred after the noise.
Several alarms were activated by power trouble in the area Monday morning.
