Wrong-Way Ford Fiesta Driver Caught By Mount Prospect Police on Euclid Ave After Hit-and-Run

Mount Prospect police responded to a report about 4:58 p.m. Thursday that a reckless driver headed toward Mount Prospect by way of Euclid Avenue. Police received multiple calls that a silver Ford Fiesta was driven recklessly on eastbound Euclid Avenue. Police received a report that the Ford Fiesta was being driven into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was reported to have damage that looked like it was just in an accident.

Seconds later police received a report that a hit-and-run crash occurred with the vehicle at Rand Road and Euclid Avenue. The offender hit a DirectTV van and kept on going. No injuries were reported.


At about 5:00 p.m. police had a report that a witness was following the car. Police were updated that the vehicle was at Euclid Avenue and Elmhurst Road.

Mount Prospect police spotted the vehicle eastbound Euclid Avenue approaching Burning Bush about 5:03 p.m. Police stopped the vehicle near Euclid Avenue and River Road at about 5:04 p.m.

Upon police contact with the offending driver, paramedics were called for medical evaluation of the driver, and the driver was transported by Mount Prospect firefighter/paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital.

Meanwhile the driver of the vehicle left the crash scene before police arrived and drove to the Arlington Heights police station to submit an accident report.
