Arlington Heights police responded about 6:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a male banging on the door of a house asking for help in the 400 block of East Thomas Street. Police received a report that the subject wanted to be let into the house. Then the male at the door told the resident that a gang of subjects beat up his friend at Green Slopes Park and took his friend’s cell phone.
Police checked Green Slopes Park and Orchard Evangelical Church next to the park to look for the victim and the offenders, but no one was at that park.
Police were investigating to see if the victim made it home. Several minutes later police received a call from the victim, who said he was attacked by four male/white subjects, all about 5’7″ and under 20-years-old, wearing hooded sweatshirts — one white hoodie, one red hoodie, one gray hoodie, and one unknown color. Their faces were partly covered by the hoodies. There offenders were also described as wearing jeans. They were also wearing dark winter caps. No direction of travel of the offenders was available. The victim reported the offenders took money. The victim also reported he didn’t know what happened to his friend.
