Arlington Heights police responded about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a residential burglary in the 1400 block of West Lexington Drive. Police received a report that residents were away from their home from about 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Arlington Heights police are investigating.
An unknown offender or offenders forced open a sliding glass sunroom door, entered the sunroom, forced open a kitchen window and entered the residence. Numerous jewelry items with an unknown total value were removed. Items included a silver watch with jewels valued at $2,500 and a silver engagement ring valued at $3,000. The other items were necklaces, earrings and rings.
