Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday to Willow and Busse to a report of a shooting. Police received a report that a man was down in the street, calling for help. Emergency responders found a male victim shot in the back. Mount Prospect firefighter/paramedics worked a rapid transport mode, and were en route to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital by about 6:46 p.m. The victim was reported to be in his 20’s.
Police reported that the offender or offender fled in a silver Chevy Trailblazer SUV, southbound Busse, then northbound Busse, then westbound on Pheasant Trail. Two male occupants were reported in the Chevy Trail Blazer.
An evidence technician and detectives immediately responded to the scene. Busse Road and side streets in the area are blocked and will be blocked for an extended period for investigation of the crime scene.
