Schaumburg police and firefighters responded about 11:04 a.m. to a residential kitchen fire in the 700 block of Leslie Lane. The fire was extinguished by the resident with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters checked for extension in the kitchen with a thermal image camera. No extension was reported.
