Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:11 p.m. Monday to a report of a fight involving a man with a switchblade knife and a loss prevention agent near Sephora at Woodfield Mall. The loss prevention agent was attempting to stop a shoplifting crime, when the struggle occurred. The loss prevention agent was transported with a laceration to an area hospital.

Two male/black subjects were reported fleeing from the scene. One of the subjects was described as about 5’7″ brown hair with a mustache/goatee and wearing a black Bull’s cap, a black or dark blue 3/4-length Columbia style jacket with blue or gray stone wash jeans, and white gym shoes. After police investigation he was reported to be armed with a box cutter, and used the box cutter to attack the victim.

A second male/black was reported to be about 5’10” wearing a gray and white jacket with a black shirt, black Bull’s cap with a red brim (with sticker still in place), — also with a mustache/goatee. The second subject implied he had a handgun, but did not display the gun.

The offenders fled southbound on Perimeter Drive in a silver Chrysler 300 4-door occupied by a male and a second male.

There was possibly one suspect in custody or investigated. No confirmation from police.
