Arlington Heights police received a report about 11:17 p.m. Tuesday of vandalism and residential burglary at a construction site in the 700 block of North Pine Avenue. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the attached garage through a plastic tarp covering the opening. The offender or offenders then entered the residence by smashing a hole in the drywall, and removed a Hitachi Compound Miter Saw worth $400, a generator worth $1,000, two Makita Drills worth $400, three framing guns worth $800, a Makita Grinder worth $600, a Hillti Screw Gun worth $300 and a Dewalt Saw worth $200. Total damage and theft value estimated at $3,500.
The crime is reported to have occurred between Monday January 2, 2012 at 3:00pm to Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:00am.
