Police Activity: Arlington Heights police and Elk Grove police responded about 11:09 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a U.S. Marshal shot and then a possible disturbance involving the U.S. Marshal. Apparently nothing involving a U.S. Marshal occurred based on the investigation of several responding police officers from the Illinois State Police, Arlington Heights police and Elk Grove Village Police.
Originally the offending vehicle was described as a red Chevy Corvette that was last seen headed westbound on Interstate 90.
Police were also looking for a blue Toyota — described as the U.S. Marshal’s personal vehicle. Elk Grove Village police and Arlington Heights police checked east and west along Interstate 90 and the Oasis and also north and south along Route 53, but found nothing.
Illinois State police relayed the information to Northwest Central Dispatch after apparently receiving the 9-1-1 call. Local police were called for backup and the area was thoroughly searched. No involvement of a U.S. Marshal was discovered.
