The Niles Police are investigating a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:29 a.m. in the 6600 block of Touhy Ave.
The victim and witness were walking in the curb lane of Touhy Avenue, due the snow covered walkways. A gold colored sedan struck the victim and continued eastbound on Touhy Avenue. The offending vehicle is missing a passenger side mirror, which was recovered at the scene.
