Lincolnshire-Riverwoods firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police responded about 1:00 p.m. Thursday to a personal injury crash on westbound I-94 north of Half Day Road. Police received a report that one victim was unconscious in a crash that involved two cars and a semi-trailer truck. Firefighter/paramedics rescued five victims from a snowy crash site on the westbound Tri-State Tollway near Mile Marker 21.5 (north of Half Day Road).
Two extrications were ongoing during the rescue. One of the victims was rescued from their crashed vehicle almost one hour after firefighter/paramedics arrived.
The scene was cleared of vehicles about 2:15 p.m.
Lake Forest Fire Department also responded with an ambulance and a fire engine.
