Schaumburg police responded about 3:15 p.m. New Year’s Day Sunday to a report of a fight in progress involving two vehicles along Bode Road in the area of Springinsguth Road and the area of Knollwood Drive. At first police received a report that four male/black subjects were fighting, but no subjects were found during a check up and down Bode Road, Springinsguth, and Knollwood Drive.
Police then learned about 3:24 p.m. Sunday that they had a stabbing victim at an address in Streamwood with Streamwood police and firefighter/paramedics responding to the address. Schaumburg police responded to the address, but the victim was en route to St. Alexius Medical Center before police arrived.
Police learned that the victim was stabbed in the hand and that the crime involved a robbery. Stolen was a hat, shoes, and cell phone. Police received a report that the victim was able to grab the knife which remained in the the victim’s vehicle, and that there were five male/black subjects involved including the offender in the crime. The victim was apparently stabbed in a green vehicle near Knollwood Drive, just north of Bode, and near the village borders with Hoffman Estates and Streamwood. The vehicle near Knollwood and Bode (also near John Rolfe Drive) was towed to Schaumburg Police Department Headquarters. Police were sorting out confusing incoming details Sunday about which vehicle was the victim’s vehicle, which vehicle was the offenders’ vehicle, and which vehicle was the crime scene where the stabbing occurred.
Schaumburg police had one suspect in custody, and Streamwood police were aware of all of the subjects involved in the case. No word available on whether the other subjects were immediately apprehended.
The injury was apparently not life-threatening.
