Workers installed nearly 300 new crystals Tuesday on the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball. Each triangle is about 5 inches long, 6.8 ounces and less than one-half an inch thick.

Times Square is the major commercial intersection in the borough of Manhattan in New York City formed by the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets.
