Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:36 p.m. Monday to a report of a personal injury car vs. pole crash on Algonquin Road at Route 53. Police received a report that a silver Lexus was crashed into a pole east of Route 53 in the eastbound lanes.
Bystanders and police helped the victim before firefighter/paramedics arrived.
Eastbound Algonquin Road was blocked for an extended period because a tall lamp post was leaning precariously at the crash scene. East Algonquin Road was diverted at Arbor Drive, but police requested the traffic diversion be moved back to Algonquin and Meacham at about 6:56 p.m. Police blocked eastbound Algonquin at Meacham at 7:00 p.m. Monday. Eastbound Algonquin Road was reopened about 7:20 p.m.
Eastbound Algonquin Road west of Route 53 was shut down during medical rescue at the scene.
