Schaumburg police responded about 4:07 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a strong armed robbery in the 500 block of Mall Drive near Higgins Road. Police received a report that a 21-year-old woman was hit over the head with something and her purse was stolen. The offender ran off. Police activity involves a perimeter that was established in the area immediately after the crime was reported.
The offender is described as a male/black or male/Hispanic, 25-30 years-old, tall or 6’0″ with a thin build, wearing a black jacket. The purse taken was a large black purse with a silver buckle and silver sequence. No direction of travel of the offender was immediately available after the crime.
The victim was transported to a local hospital.
