NWS WIND ADVISORY Takes Effect at 3AM; Gusts 45-57 MPH Possible

Winds are expected to pickup significantly from the Southwest and South-Southwest about 5:00 a.m. Sunday. The highest winds are expected to start from the West about 8:00 a.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service puts the highest winds from 6:00 a.m. to 12 noon — and doesn’t rule out the possibility of High Wind Warning if 58 MPH or greater gusts are expected as weather forecasting is updated.

Some snow accumulation — probably less than an inch is possible overnight. The rain and snow mix precipitation is likely between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday. Daytime highs are expected about dawn with temps falling throughout Sunday.

WILL TIGHTEN ON THE BACK SIDE OF THIS LOW AND COMBINED WITH MUCH
COLDER AIR SPREADING IN…WESTERLY WINDS WILL RAPIDLY INCREASE
LATE TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING. THESE STRONG WINDS WILL PERSIST
INTO SUNDAY EVENING…BEFORE SLOWLY DIMINISHING SUNDAY NIGHT.

EXPECTED. GUSTS TO 55 MPH ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS…SMALL TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES MAY BE BLOWN DOWN.
LIGHT WEIGHT OR UNSECURE OBJECTS CAN BE BLOWN AWAY. DRIVING WILL
BECOME DIFFICULT ESPECIALLY NORTH SOUTH ORIENTED ROADS.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 30 TO 39 MPH…OR
GUSTS BETWEEN 45 AND 57 MPH…ARE LIKELY. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN
CAUSE MINOR PROPERTY DAMAGE UNLESS PRECAUTIONS ARE TAKEN. DRIVING
MAY BE DIFFICULT…ESPECIALLY IN HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. MOTORISTS
SHOULD BE ALERT AND USE CAUTION.
