A music industry executive John Atterberry died Monday after being shot several days ago by a rampaging gunman in the heart of Hollywood, a hospital spokeswoman said.
John Atterberry has died after he was shot in the face and neck and seriously injured at Sunset and Vine in Hollywood by a gunman who was shooting at passing motorists. Atterberry had been listed in critical condition at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center.
John Atterberry was a longtime recording industry manager and promoter who worked with the Spice Girls and Jessica Simpson.
Most recently, Atterberry was senior partner and chief financial officer at the GridLock Group, an event promotions company.
A gunman, identified as Tyler Brehm, randomly opened fire at the intersection of Sunset and Vine in Los Angeles on Friday morning, December 9, 2011. The gunman was shot and killed by police after he allegedly pulled out a knife shouting, “Kill me” and “I want to be killed.” The gunman is reported to have run out of bullets.
Hollywood Reporter photo editor Chris Godley, who was shot in the leg, was also injured with a non-life-threatening injury.
