14-car crash: An outing of luxury sportscar enthusiasts in Japan ended in an expensive freeway pileup – smashing eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini, three Mercedes and two Toyotas.
An expensive $1 million plus freeway pileup on the Chugoku Expressway involved a crash of eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini, two Mercedes and three other cars in Japan 10:16 a.m. Sunday. Some of the cars were totaled. The pavement was wet from rain at the time of the accident.
The crash, which occurred in Yamaguchi prefecture, injured 10 people. None of the injuries were reported to be serious.
A group of auto enthusiasts were headed to Hiroshima, when apparently one of the drivers changed lanes, hit a median and lost control of his vehicle. The other vehicles crashed while trying to avoid the car that was spinning out after hitting the median.
