Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:46 p.m. Saturday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Northwest Highway and Benton. A police officer arrived at the scene just after the incident occurred.
Palatine firefighter/paramedics were en route — possibly with an older female victim — to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital within about nine minutes.
Palatine police are investigating the accident for a prolonged period — expect lane blockage. Westbound traffic possibly diverted at North Court Lane.
Investigators cleared the scene about 10:17 p.m. Saturday.
We saw the ambulance with a palatine squad car right behind flying east on nw highway at about 7 pm. They were moving!
