Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights was selected one of “Chicago’s Top Workplaces 2011” by the Chicago Tribune in a special magazine insert in today’s newspaper. The list identifies the best 100 places to work in the Chicago metropolitan area. NCH ranks No. 11 among 20 in the large-company category.
This is the second year of the Tribune’s Top Workplaces survey, and NCH has made the list both times. The rankings are based on employee feedback from a 22-question online survey, open to Chicago-area employers with at least 100 workers.
The list is available at www.chicagotribune.com/business/careers/topworkplaces2011.
“An honor like this is a tribute to the dedication and enthusiasm of our great employees,” said Bruce Crowther, president and CEO of Northwest Community Healthcare. “It means so much to me when people say they enjoy working here. Our culture is truly the cornerstone of everything we achieve.”
There were 193 companies taking part in the Top Workplaces program, conducted for the Tribune by WorkplaceDynamics, a workplace survey specialist based in Exton, Pa. At NCH, approximately 500 employees were randomly selected to participate in the survey.
The survey measured key organization qualities such as company leadership, compensation, training, diversity, and workplace flexibility. Employers selected for the Top Workplaces list were credited by their own employees with having dynamic, supportive and inclusive cultures.
The Top 100 employers were divided into three categories: large (1,000 employees and above), midsize (250 to 999) and small (fewer than 250).
With nearly 3,300 full-time and part-time employees, NCH is one of the largest hospitals in Illinois. The world-class medical facility has expert physicians and state-of-the-art technologies that draw patients from across the state and around the country.
