Firefighters after fire was stopped at 303 Kingswoods Lane just after 11:00 a.m. Thursday.
Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:50 a.m. Thursday to a report of smoke in a residence in the 300 block of Kingswood Lane in Shadow Bend. Police arrived first and reported learning of a small fire in between the walls.
The fire was extinguished before 11:20 a.m. after at least two small holes were cut in the roof. At about 11:30 a.m. fire command was requesting a boardup service for the holes on the roof. Electric and gas utilities were also called to the scene.
No injuries to residents were reported. One firefighter received a minor laceration to a hand.
Buffalo Grove, Northbrook and Prospect Heights firefighters assisted Wheeling firefighters at the scene.
