Palatine police responded just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday to a report of a power line down and arcing near Northwest Highway and Benton and also near Colfax and Plum Grove Road in Palatine.
Firefighters reported a primary line down in the area. Firefighters also reported power line insulator burning in the 900 block of East Krista Court about two miles away.
Numerous issues were reported including …
– Alarm activations.
– A stoplight malfunction at Palatine Road and Rohlwing Road.
– An elevator malfunction with rescue in the 900 block of East Wilmette.
Repairs possibly involved a shut down of power in the Woodfield area of Schaumburg, where Schaumburg and Rolling Meadows police were controlling traffic around intersections along Golf Road and Meacham and other intersections in the area. Electric power at Woodfield Mall was functioning normally.
