Prospect Heights police responded about 11:41 a.m. Friday to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Piper Lane and Pinecrest. Police received a report from a witness that men were shooting a gun at people and took off on foot near Pinecrest Drive.
The offenders were not seen in a vehicle, and were reported to have scarves over their faces.
At least one victim fled in a green minivan. At first callout the shooters were reported to be in the green minivan, but later police on the scene corrected the information — victims were in the minivan.
