Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:40 a.m. Saturday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car in the eastbound lanes of Palatine Road, east of Kennicott Avenue. Police reported a pedestrian down in the 400 block of West Palatine Road in the express lanes.
A white Kia Soul was discovered on the sidewalk of the eastbound frontage lanes, damaged from pedestrian impact. The victim was found in the eastbound express lanes. Firefighter/paramedics rushed the victim with life-threatening injuries to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
Police immediately called accident investigators to the scene. The Accident Investigator (AI) team worked with markers and measurements the help of a public works light truck until about 6:40 a.m.
