Arlington Heights police responded about 6:59 p.m. Saturday to a report of an attempted theft that just occurred at Jewel-Osco, 1860 South Arlington Heights Road. Police received a report that a suspect attempted to steal a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka and fled across the Golf and Arlington Heights Road intersection toward Walgreens. Security at the Jewel-Osco store managed to get the bottle of alcohol back from the suspect.
The suspect was described as a male/black about 6′ with a thin build, wearing a workout jacket, white long sleeve shirt, and blue pants.
No word on any police contact with the suspect.
While police were at the Jewel-Osco, they learned of a second attempted retail theft by a male/Hispanic. The second offender was described as a male/Hispanic, mid-40’s, receding hairline, mustache, and wearing a dark jacket. The suspect got into a vehicle with two other male/Hispanic suspects. One of the accomplices had a scorpion tattoo on his neck. The males left in a silver BMW. The second suspect is not believed to have gotten away with any products from the Jewel-Osco. Both crimes apparently occurred at about the same time, and are not known to be related.
