Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:05 a.m. Monday to a vehicle vs. house crash in the 1300 block of Eton Drive. Rescuers originally received a report that a person was trapped in the car with fire under the engine compartment. Residents of the house evacuated the house while firefighters were responding.

A brick wall was pushed and moved by the force of the vehicle — a Kia Sedona. The fire was extinguished immediately. One male victim was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

Buffalo Grove and Palatine firefighter/paramedics assisted Arlington Heights firefighters, but were returned back in service within about 20 minutes. Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics responded with a second ambulance to the scene.

The Village of Arlington Heights Building Department was called to the scene. The Kia van left the roadway on Buffalo Grove and hit the house from the backyard.
