Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:48 p.m. to a head-on crash at Arlington Heights Road and Rand Road. Firefighter/paramedics were first on the scene and reported the crash was right in the center of the intersection.
At least one person was injured and transported to Northwest Community Hospital.
An animal welfare officer responded to care for a dog that was in one of the vehicles. A family member of one of the accident victims arrived on the scene to pick up the dog before the accident scene was cleared.
