Palatine Fire Department.
Citizens are invited to join active and retired police officers, firefighters and their families and friends to participate in an event to honor and remember the 343 firefighters ad 72 police officers that died in the line of duty on September 11, 2001.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2011 AT NOON
Events include a procession of police officers and firefighters from Palatine Fire Department’s Station 85 leading to the Palatine Firefighter memorial (Slade Street and Brockway Street), the Palatine Fire department Honor Guard, and a musical presentation from the Fremd H.S. Band followed by speeches from local dignitaries.
The event is scheduled to last 30 minutes. The Palatine Firefighter Memorial is located at the northeast corner of Slade Street and Brockway Street in downtown Palatine, Illinois.
