Palatine police responded about 8:38 p.m. Thursday to a report of a burglary in progress in the 800 block of North Fairway. Police received a report that a side garage door was open and an unknown person was in the garage. A witness also reported to police before they arrived that graffiti was sprayed on the garage door and a light went on upstairs in the residence.
Police were on scene within three minutes and reported a subject in custody two minutes later.
Police transported one subject in custody to Palatine Police Department headquarters.
Police searched the interior of the residence with a K-9 unit. No word on whether any additional subjects were apprehended.
