The Chicago White Sox announced they have released Manager Ozzie Guillen from his contract after Monday night’s 4-3 win over the Blue Jays so he can pursue “other managerial opportunities.”

ESPNChicago.com reported Monday that Guillen was traded to the Florida Marlins for two minor-league players.

The Florida Marlins were in last place in their division.

The Florida Marlins become the Miami Marlins next season with a new logo that is getting panned.

They will start next season with a new stadium in Little Havana at the site of the former Miami Orange Bowl, and a new Spring training center in Homestead, Florida. The Fightin’ Fish — a Florida Marlin’s Blog reports that the Miami Marlins will open their season against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 12, 2012.
