Health officials say as many as 16 people have died from possible listeria illnesses traced to Colorado cantaloupes, the deadliest food outbreak in more than a decade.
16 killed and up to 72 ill, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
Confirmed deaths:
Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Maryland
The contamination has been traced to Jensen Farms in Holly, Colorado
The Rocky Ford brand cantaloupes in question were shipped from July 29, 2011 to September 10 2011.
