ARLINGTON HEIGHTS – (September 22, 2011) – Caribou Coffee, the nation’s second-largest coffeehouse operator, today announced the opening of a new store located at 115 West Rand Road in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
“We’re thrilled to open up a new store in the Arlington Heights area,” said Dean Torrenga, director of operations for Caribou Coffee. “We chose Arlington Heights as one of the new locations because the community’s characteristics fit well with our brand and offerings. The redevelopment efforts of the nearby downtown and shopping area provide vibrancy and interest, making Arlington Heights a perfect destination for a Caribou Coffee.”
“Here at Caribou we are committed to providing guests with an extraordinary experience every time they visit our store,” said Torrenga. “We pride ourselves on being the community place guests love.”
Interior décor at the Arlington Heights location includes items influenced by the surrounding neighborhood. Throughout the interior, guests will see featured equestrian décor elements, inspired by the nearby Arlington Park Racetrack. The Community Table in each Caribou Coffee will be large enough to seat several individuals, and is designed to foster friendship by bringing guests together in the central hub of the store. The Community Table and Grand Poobah Chair embody the history of Arlington Park, and are meant to catch guests’ attention as they enter the store.
The store also included a convenient drive-thru.

In 2010, Caribou Coffee introduced a fresh take to their overall brand that stemmed from the reinvention of their tagline – Life is short. Stay awake for it – to signify a positive, seize the day mentality. “This new location, and all stores opening from this point forward, are intended to be more fun and inspirational, while maintaining the comfortable lodge look and feel for which Caribou Coffee is known,” said Torrenga.
The Arlington Heights location is one of eight new Caribou Coffee stores set to open in 2011, and among the first company-owned stores to open since 2008.
