Early moments of the blaze at Armitage and Mohawk as firefighters first arrive, showing a flashover at 0:21, heavy fire and thick, black smoke rising from the vacant building.
Chicago firefighters responded just before 1:00 p.m. Friday to an intense fire in a vacant 3-story brick home at 525 West Armitage Avenue– the corner of Armitage and Mohawk.
The building eventually collapsed and even bystanders were predicting the building was going to burn down. One exposure building next-door to 525 West Armitage also caught fire.
A 2-11-alarm response was called out. No known injuries reported.
A second angle, showing heavy fire with Squad 1 backing up to close to the fireground scene.
