Thousands of striking workers in Verizon Communication Inc.’s landline division joined picket lines and rallies Monday at company offices from Massachusetts to Virginia, a union official said.
About 45,000 Verizon workers on strike are part of Verizon’s U.S. Northeast wireline unit, which provides traditional phone services as well as high-speed Internet and FiOS television services.
Impact to customers is expected to only involved slower-than-usual installations.
Shares were down Monday about 2.1% as the S&P 500 index was down 2.2%
