VIDEO: Crash scene at 1051 West Rand Route (Route 12) that demolished a Volkswagen Golf.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:50 p.m. Saturday to a one-car crash versus a tree in front of a medical office building at 1051 West Rand Road.
The driver’s silver Volkswagen Golf left the roadway while eastbound on Route 12 near an entrance to the parking lot of the medical office building and traveled the parkway while leaking gasoline. The bottom of the car hit the high curb as it left the roadway. The car hit directly into a large tree on the front passenger side and spun 180 degrees back into the eastbound lanes.
The driver was injured, but witnesses reported he was standing when firefighter/paramedics arrived. The driver was transported to Northwest Community Hospital.
Eastbound Rand Road was blocked between Hintz Road and Kennicott for about one hour.
Volkswagen Golf totalled after crash into a tree.
