Buffalo Grove firefighters rescued the family dog at a house in the 700 block of Farrington Drive in Buffalo Grove about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday after a passerby reported a house was on fire.
Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:07 p.m. Wednesday to a report from a passerby that a house was on fire in the 700 block of Farrington Drive, Buffalo Grove. Police arrived first and reported a lot of smoke from the roof. Firefighters arrived reported a working fire.
Firefighter/paramedics from Arlington Heights, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Long Grove, Palatine, and Wheeling assisted Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics. The family is report to successfully evacuated by firefighters searching the inside of the smoke-filled house rescued the family dog. The dog was give oxygen while police worked hard to find a local animal hospital. The dog was quickly transported to a local animal hospital by a Buffalo Grove official, possibly a community service officer. A second dog did not survive.
