Elk Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:20 p.m. Monday at or near the China Bowl restaurant, 100 block of Turner Avenue. Police arrived first on the scene and reported three people stabbed. At least one victim with a serious stab wound. Two ambulances responded to the scene by 12:25 p.m. Monday.
Police believed all subjects involved in the crime were contained, and that there is no outside threat to the neighborhood as of 12:35 p.m.
Xiubin Mei, of the 3200 block of South Aberdeen Street in Chicago, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery after he stabbed two co-workers with a kitchen knife.
The fight apparently occurred outside behind the restaurant. A female was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Two males were transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. All three injured subjects are reported to be employees of the China Bowl restaurant.
China Bowl is a carry out and delivery restaurant specializing in healthy Chinese and Thai food, according to the company website ChinaBowl2Go.com
