A Heat Advisory for the Chicago area, including Arlington Heights and Cook County, was issued at 4:04 a.m. Monday. The Heat Advisory goes into effect at 11:00 a.m. CDT to 8 p.m. Monday. Showers dropping in overnight with associated elevated dew points into the mid-70’s, and clouds expected to break about late morning or noon, are expected to bring the heat index over 100°F. The Chicago area Air Quality Alert has expired. Chicago’s AQI is moderate, which forecast air quality that can affect individuals sensitive to pollutants.

* TEMPS/HEAT INDEX…HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RISE INTO THE LOWER
AND MID 90S TODAY. COMBINED WITH THE VERY MOIST AIR OVER THE
AREA AFTERNOON HEAT INDICES OF 100 TO 110 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED.

* IMPACTS…THE HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY…COMBINED WITH SKIES
BECOMING MOSTLY SUNNY BY MIDDAY…WILL INCREASE THE POTENTIAL
FOR HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES SHOULD PROPER PRECAUTIONS NOT BE
TAKEN.
