TWO MEN CHARGED IN LAKEVIEW POT BUST
Two men are in custody and a third is being questioned in connection with a drug sales operation on the north side of Chicago, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced Tuesday.
Daniel Kennedy, 23, of the 1700 block of West Altgeld in Chicago and Christian Cameron, 22, also of the 1700 block of West Altgeld, were charged July 8th with possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Bond for both men has been set at $10,000. The two appeared in Markham bond court July 11th.
During a confidential investigation, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police South Narcotics Unit developed information that the men were selling cannabis from an apartment building in Lakeview. After conducting surveillance, officers were able to secure a search warrant for the apartment on the 1700 block of West Altgeld. On Friday, July 8th, the South Narcotics Unit executed the search warrant. After searching the home, investigators recovered approximately 531 grams of hydroponic cannabis, with an estimated street value of $42,000, along with $1,868 in cash.
The next court date for all three men is August 5th at 26th and California. Charges are pending against a third individual involved in the scheme.
